FAQ
General
Which bicycles are suitable?
Basically, the VEOLO trailer can be mounted on almost any bicycle, but important requirements must be met.
Details / Notes:
- Brakes: Good, reliable brakes are a prerequisite. Hydraulic brakes are especially recommended.
- Thru-axles: Modern bicycles with thru-axles offer additional safety for use with trailers.
- Sturdy frame: The frame material is secondary; what matters is sufficient sizing. Trekking bikes, mountain bikes, touring bikes, and gravel bikes usually meet this requirement.
- Not suitable: Racing bikes are not suitable for use with trailers.
- Mounting point: The trailer is attached to the left side of the rear axle. This area is reinforced on modern bikes, among other things by hydraulic brakes, and directs the forces directly into the frame.
Conclusion: With a sturdy bike frame, reliable brakes, and thru-axles, the VEOLO trailer can be operated safely.
