More and more purchase bonuses are being awarded for bicycles because this is the only way to reduce CO2 emissions in road traffic. In many German federal states there are support programs for the purchase of bicycles, e-bikes, (e-) cargo bikes and sometimes even bicycle trailers. The goal of this program: motivate more people to switch to cycling.
What funding programs are there?
This question is actually difficult to answer because the funding programs vary from state to state and can even differ from municipality to municipality. Budgets are often limited or exhausted before the end if many people take advantage of the offer.
Is there also funding for bicycle trailers?
Unfortunately, bicycle trailers are not yet as strongly integrated into the existing support programs as cargo bikes, although they fulfill exactly the same function and can be used by many due to their flexible use.
However, there are some funding options for bicycle trailers as a stand-alone vehicle or in conjunction with bicycles and e-bikes.
